Dunblane future tennis star Ali takes first Scottish title

  • Ali Collins of Dunblane took the Scottish 12 and under tennis title in Glasgow

Dunblane is celebrating the dawn of another tennis talent from the town after Ali Collins was the shock winner of the Scottish 12 and under girls title in Glasgow, going through all four of her matches without dropping a set.

Ali, who is just 10 years old, and a member of the LTA's Aegon Future Stars programme beat number one seed Nicole Clark of Prestwick 6-2, 6-1 in the final. She trains at Stirling University.

Congratulations to Ali Collins on winning her first Scottish Title. I have it on good authority that she is the one to watch for Wimbledon in about 2020. Its an amazing coincidence that my source has the same last name but he does seem to know what he's on about.
